What’s the Hype about Small Group Training?

Small Group Training has grown in popularity in the last few years, and for good reasons! If you have never heard of Small Group Training (SGT) it is when 3 or more people gather together for a workout. There are caps on this type of training to keep it “small” and personable. People will have their different reasons why they enjoy SGT, but here are the most popular reasons:

  1. More Personal Attention

In larger groups, such as 30+ people, it can be hard for the coach spend personal time with each person. In SGT, the coach has time to check on everyone to correct form, give tips, work on nutrition and answer questions. This gives the 1 on 1 feel, with a smaller price!

  1. Build Relationships

You will not be the only one in the training session, so that gives you the opportunity to make build relationships with other participants. Finding people in a similar situation to you eases any nerves you might have, and the friendships / comradery will make you want to come back for more!

  1. Fun Atmosphere

Let’s be honest, working out by yourself can get stale. In a SGT there will be chatter, high fives and motivation from others. There can never be too many people cheering you on! The main point of joining an exercise program is to get results, but why not have fun while you’re doing it?! After reading this you are probably wondering where you can find a SGT to join. Luckily, you don’t have to look very far! iGYM hosts an outdoor boot camp called Weekend Warrior. This event is held every first Saturday of the month starting June1st through September. This SGT isn’t like anything else, it uses fun functional movements such as tire flips, keg tosses, kettlebells, and more! What are you waiting for? Try it out! Members are $15 and no members are $20. Call 319-320-7705 or email nmurphy@igymia.com to register. warrior outdoor bootcamp
